This week, the week of October 20, 2014, is Red Ribbon Week. The Mill Pond students and staff will turn our backs on drugs, alcohol, and tobacco use. Here is how we will celebrate Red Ribbon Week each day (from Mrs. Hong, Mr. Cohen, and Mrs. Brouillard)

"Red Week Activities

10/20 - 10/24/2014
The anti-drug and alcohol campaign known as “Red Ribbon Week” will be observed here at Mill Pond. Each morning’s announcements will focus on Red Ribbon Week.  Below are preview of the daily events so you are aware of them.

Monday:  Ribbon Day*  Teachers will find a red ribbon in their mailboxes by the end of the day on Friday. Please tie it to your doorknob or to the base of the flagpole in your room.  A morning video will introduce Red Ribbon Week and activities.  Table tent informational display will be on each table in the cafeteria during all three lunches with a focus on Tobacco Use.

Tuesday: Team Up Against Drugs Day* Students and teachers are encouraged to wear their favorite team gear; Red Sox, Patriots, Bruins, Celtics, Westborough Rangers or Red, White and Blue to show that our “Mill Pond Team” is healthy and drug free!  Students will be given a small Red Ribbon Week memento in homerooms to foster Red Ribbon Week awareness throughout the week...Lunch Focus: Alcohol Use & Word Search.

Wednesday: Red Writing Day* Teachers and students should try to use red pens, pencils and markers whenever possible today only.  Word search and table tent informational display on each table in the cafeteria during all three lunches. Lunch Focus: Ways to Say “No”

Thursday: Wear Red Clothing Day*  Mill Pond should be a sea of red as we all wear red clothing to symbolize the anti drug and alcohol abuse sentiment.  Word search and table tent informational display on each table in the cafeteria during all three lunches.  Lunch Focus: 101 Things to do instead of drugs.

Friday: Turn Your Back on Drugs Day.  Shirts should be worn backwards to symbolize turning your back on drugs.  Red Ribbon Brain Game to be held at all three lunches.  Red Ribbon Brain Game Winners announced at Monday’s lunch & prizes given out."
