We had a very fun packed week! Parents do you want to know what we did? For math we have started the 3rd module in Eureka math (yay!) We are halfway to finish all the modules! We started to find equivalent fractions! I love fractions! We also learned how to add fractions with number lines and area models!
For science we had an assessment on what we have learned so far about plants and ecosystems. Hopefully we all got great marks! We have also started the assignment we did when we first started science! We call it our Living Systems Post Assessment!
For ELA, we got back to our main idea sheets! We also presented our Donors Choose Rational in front of our class! We had to vote for 5 people’s items we thought would be beneficial for our classroom!
For gym, we played Danger Island- it was a game that includes cooperation among other students that we haven’t worked together with! It was very fun!
On Tuesday morning, sadly we couldn’t wait outside so instead we fifth graders waited in the auditorium. You want to know what happened? Well, let me tell you, there was a rat loose on the floor of the auditorium! Mr.Slomski was brave and caught the rat! It was amazing!
On the same day we also had an amazing 5th grade orchestra performance! They played many songs that were beautiful! We also had a chorus performance on Friday! They sang many songs that we all know! Including a “Million Dreams” that was sung by 6th graders! Let’s give a round of applause for all the hard work they all put in!
Oh! Parents a very big reminder that report cards are going home on Monday! I hope everyone will get good grades and will do better on the next report card!
We had a very fun week!
Thanks for reading,
Gauthami S. and Drishti J.

We had a very short but fun last week! Parents do you wonder what we did in that short week? Last week we had 2 snow days! Can you believe that! We got a long Thanksgiving weekend! On the second snow day we had an ALD. Alongside that fun weekend, we even got a party on Wednesday for removing all the paper clips! Hooray!(this was our second party!)
For math, we got our Module 2 tests back! We kept on improving our measurement unit skills and had a small measurement check-in.
For ELA, we were making our Donors choose questionnaire/format.
For science, we did 2 amazing lab investigations! The first one was trying to break the wheat seeds’ dormancy. The second one was trying to The yeasts’ dormancy. We also used cookies to do that!( but we didn’t eat them though) Last week we also had a science check-in too!
Sadly, we couldn’t have art or gym. So we started the week off by music. Then we had library, and finally gym! On Friday, we had a half day.
Oh! And don’t forget…
Mr. G slept out on the plaza on Thursday night! We all got to wear pajamas on Friday!! On our way from the bus we saw Mr. G sleeping in his little tent! Now, you’re probably wondering why would he sleep outside in the cold, well let me tell you why: we bought in over 3000 pounds for the food pantry. A lot right! Don’t you think we had a lot of fun stuff packed in this short the three-day-school-week!

So parents, I hope you had as much fun reading this as we had writing this! So parents thanks for reading this hope you had a good Thanksgiving and a merry upcoming Christmas
