  Weekly Update

                 Homeroom
In homeroom we talk about empathy because it is this month’s keyword. Also For empathy we do Venn diagrams with a new person everyday. In the Venn diagrams we exchange things that we both do same and both do different. We mostly play a game called 10 and sometimes we just do a regular greeting. One time Mrs. Kewriga told a story about a water bottle story, it was so funny.

                            Math

This week in math we had a quiz. We learned about converting a bigger unit into a smaller unit. Also one day we had a silent math because we did bad in library.

                   Science
This week in science we had a sub for one week because our actual teacher went into the science museum in boston. We learned about living systems, scientific model, and about ecosystems. We are also learning about atmosphere, Biosphere, Geosphere, and Hydrosphere.

                   ELA

This week in ELA we started a new book called Home of the Brave. Also we wrote a story about a small and a important time in our life. Also Mrs.Kewriga showed us Commonlit. In Commonlit we read about a Amira from Syria that ran away from a war and stayed at a refugee camp for three years.

Weekly Update
This week was a fun, exciting week!
In Homeroom we’ve been working on our Venn Diagrams. The Venn Diagrams help us get to know our classmates better by finding out our similarities and differences. We did this because this months key value is empathy. Empathy means putting yourself in other people’s shoes and feeling what they’re feeling.
In Math we learned how to multiply a decimal by a whole number. We also did sprints on subtraction; subtracting a whole number and subtracting a decimal.
In Science we we started our investigation, our focus question being will the size and shape affect how the balls will roll.
In ELA we are still reading Mr. Terupt, our classroom book. We are focusing on Narrative Writing, and strategies and writing tips that made a piece of narrative writing good. Some strategies are using paragraphs, including descriptive writing, and using dialogue.

In art we finished doing our shoe project. We been working on our shoes for last 3 weeks.
In gym we worked on the 4 corners workout and a fun tag game. The 4 corners workout is when we work on physical fitness. On one corner we work on trunk raises to work on core strength. On another corner we work on the equilateral bars to work on upper body strength. On the equilateral bars, we have to keep our body at a ninety degrees angle. On the third corner we work on tuck jumps; you have to keep your feet apart at shoulders width and jump your height. On the final corner we work on a plank.

The Weekly Update

So in the class of A008 so much has been going on.

SOCAIL STUDIES
First we just ended social studies we ended it because the first 6 weeks has passed, and now were learning so many interesting things in science.

MATH
Now in math we’re learning about multiplying a fraction by a whole numbers.

SCIENCE
We just started science.Our teacher is Mrs.Buffone.We had to bring in a ball and think of exparaments and question.

ELA
This week in ELA we are writing personal narratives. We are writing about a small moment in our life And at the end of the period some people got to share some of their narratives. At the end of ELA we try and read Because of Mr. Terrupt it is such a good book.

This is what we did during the week and we hope you all enjoyed reading about our past week .
