Update for the week of November 4 2019

This week was a great week at Mill Pond. It was the first week completely in November. On Tuesday we had a holiday for voting. And on Monday the 11 we will have a holiday for Veterans Day. How great is that? Veterans Day is for honoring veterans that have served our country. Now for what we learned. In science we learned about systems (simple systems, complex systems and subsystems) and about Claim, Evidence & reasoning. In math we learned about fantastic tape-diagrams, measurement, and dividing by using mental math. In English language arts (ELA) we learned about good reading responses and to pay attention by knowing that you have write after. We also started book clubs that include books about inclusiveness- The book clubs are so much fun. There was a food drive which is still going on and if our school beats the school record Mr.G (our principal) will sleep outside on the school plaza on a December night in his PJ’s -how cool is that? (There will be a pajama day at school.) To make it better our Panther team is having a competition If our class brings in 50 items in total then Mrs.Kewriga will let us wear PJ’s on the Wednesday before Thanksgiving. (Canned foods are a hit because they weigh more than other items.) Thanks! Check the weekly update next week for more great news and don’t forget to hit the thumbs up button bye until next time.

Thanks For Reading!

This week we had a lot of things going on! In science we learned how mosquitoes are the deadliest animal and a lot of small animals are deadlier than bigger animals, and we created a model to create our own prairie environment! In math we learned how to multiply a whole number with a decimal.(it was a lot of numbers) and we took our topics A, B, and C quizzes on Thursday. In ELA we were learning about inclusiveness and on Wednesday we had 2 people with disabilities come in to talk to us! On Thursday we were doing claims and evidence on flexible seating.
Also on Thursday we had Cocoa Cafe! This was the best week ever!
Sincerely,
Finn
