In the comment section, write the stanzas you created in class to help give your classmates ideas.

Then on the worksheet given to you in class, do the following:

Directions: Complete the poem by adding 1-2 more stanzas. Be sure to include the following:
  • students as the seeds
  • touchstone as the leaves
  • teachers as the roots
  • counselors as the stem.

Mill Pond is a sunflower,
Ms. Kenny is the sun.
The key values are the petals
On which our school is run.

Mr. Slomski is the source
From which the water does flow,
To which the school needs
In order to properly grow.

the students are the seeds, the teachers are the roots, they combine together, to make learning a hoot!

the students are the seeds, there are many in a flower, the teachers are the roots, with a lot of power

the touchstone is the leaves, it's important and not small
the counselors are the stems, they help us when we fall

the touchstone is the leaves
with all those pretty words
it gives students all the ease
which makes us into nerds

The touchstone are the leaves
That students say every week
That build the students up
To live by the words we speak

The students are the seeds
The teachers are the sun
The knowledge they pass on
Is how we blossom

The Touchstone is the leaves
The students are the seeds
Ready to blossom
Awaiting for the breeze

The Teachers are the roots
The counselors are the stem
They help us in our problems
When we go to them
